How to Submit Your Manuscript

Relics Press is selective and currently accepting submissions from Pacific Northwest authors. We prioritize character-driven fiction across multiple genres and welcome both debut and established authors. Acceptance is never guaranteed, and we review each manuscript individually for fit with our mission and catalog.

What We’re Looking For

Manuscript Requirements:

• Complete manuscripts only (no partial submissions)
• Flexible word count appropriate to your genre
• Strong character development and emotional resonance
• Clear narrative structure and internal logic
• Basic grammar and professional presentation
• Willingness to collaborate through editorial revisions

Genres We Publish:

• We publish all genres with few exceptions
• Children’s literature (picture books, chapter books)

Author Background:

• Pacific Northwest authors prioritized (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, British Columbia)
• Debut authors welcome (no prior publishing experience required)
• Exceptional manuscripts from outside the PNW considered case-by-case

What We Don’t Publish:

• Extreme horror
• Erotica
• Hate speech or content promoting violence/extremism
• Political manifestos or religious conversion material
• AI-generated content
• Plagiarized work

Automatic Rejection Criteria:

• Incomplete manuscripts
• Authors unwilling to revise or collaborate
• Unrealistic expectations about guaranteed sales or success
• Content that violates our values or legal standards
• Manuscripts that don’t align with our brand or mission

What to Include:

• Query letter (brief introduction, book summary, author bio)
• Complete manuscript (Word doc or PDF)
• Genre
• Word count
• Target audience
• Your connection to the Pacific Northwest

Response Time:

We aim to respond within 4-6 weeks. Due to volume, we can only respond to submissions that are a potential fit. If you don’t hear from us within 6 weeks, please assume your manuscript is not the right fit at this time.

What Happens Next

If we’re interested:

• We’ll request a full manuscript review (if not already provided)
• Schedule a consultation call to discuss your project and publishing goals
• Provide a detailed publishing proposal with timeline, costs, and royalty structure
• Work with you to finalize a contract tailored to your project

• We do not provide detailed feedback on rejected manuscripts
